Last week I shared with you a tri-color card I made for an upcoming team swap. It was a pretty card, but something didn’t feel right. Do you ever have that feeling–the project that just doesn’t make your heart sing when you see it? So, I gave the trio-color swap card another try, and now I smile when I look at it. Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment below.
This bookmark card uses the Pressed Petals DSP, Lace die, and Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.
The bookmark is tucked inside a pocket on the front of the card, and can be easily removed for use in your favorite book.
The flower is constructed of 3 punched Perennial Flowers layered at angles on top of each other. The starburst from the Magnolia Memory dies is used for the center of the flower.
If I’m honest about it, I have a love/hate relationship with the Lace dies. The large die is very detailed and leaves tiny little paper chads everywhere. However, when you pull the cardstock off the die, it is a stunningly beautiful image!
Tips for using the large Lace die
Unlike other dies, run the Lace die (sandwiched between 2 clear cutting plates) with the cutting surface face-up a couple of times through your die-cutting machine.
While the cardstock is still on the die, use a roller brush (ideally over a trash can) to poke out the small paper chads as much as possible.
Added a small but sweet flower to decorate the inside.
Now It’s Your Turn!
