March 2019 Paper Pumpkin: Birthday

Our Paper Pumpkin group will be getting together this Thursday for a Birthday Party to celebrate Paper Pumpkin’s 6th year. In preparation, I’ve been working on a special treat for my guests as well as some alternate ideas using components of the kit.

Every birthday party needs party favors, so each guest will receive a fun-size Jelly Belly treat and votive candle box.

Kit components used: balloon stamp

The treat box and bow were made using the Envelope Punch Board. The idea for the treat box came from Sam Hammond @ Pootles.co.uk. You can access her original tutorial here.

For one of my alternate projects, I thought it would be fun to make a “pop-up” box.

Kit components used: balloon/string confetti/sentiment stamps, confetti card base, Daffodil Delight banner, white label, bow die-cut, pop-up cake.

To get the pop-up cake to fit in the box, I snipped the top and bottom score line of the pop-up and overlapped the pieces so the base would sit flat in the box, allowing the cake to pop up.

The birthday candles inside the box are accented with Wink of Stella glitter brush.
