Happy Halloween Hippo Fun Fold Card 🎃🦛
Cards don’t have to stay flat to be fun—sometimes the front can hold a little surprise of its own! For this week’s YouTube Live, I shared how to make a Happy Halloween Hippo fun fold card that’s full of playful charm and a touch of spooky fun.
The Project: Hippo on a Flap 🦛👻
The star of this card is a cute Halloween hippo, laser cut from the Spooky Sweet Designer Series Paper and placed on a label that flips up from the bottom of the card front. A black spiderweb tucked in the corner and a bold “Boo!” in orange (both die cuts from the Fright Night dies) add just the right touch of Halloween whimsy.
Fold down the flap, and inside the card you’ll find two laser cut bats from the DSP along with the “Happy Halloween” sentiment stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink from the Spooky Halloween stamp set. It’s a card that’s both fun to make and fun to open!
Fun Fold Variations ✨
One of my favorite things about this card design is how versatile it is! In the video, I shared how you can rotate the card so the flap opens from the top or either side instead of the bottom. Just be sure to adjust the placement of your DSP, label, and sentiment before adhering the pieces. With a simple switch in orientation, you can create a whole new look!
